We’ve been busy evolving our products here at Ding and want to let you know of the changes we are making in our DingConnect & V3 API to support Bill Payments.
Don’t worry, these are non-breaking changes. We always advise our partners to use a parser (available for all modern programming and scripting languages) to parse the JSON response. This allows us to add new fields to responses, and evolve our API over time without breaking conforming parsers.
Just make sure that your parser (serialisation / deserialisation) library does not include optional parameters. See our API documentation for more info.
Our Bill Payment product will continue to evolve, so if you are interested in selling Bill Payment products, please contact us and we will be happy to help.
The full API changes will be released Wednesday July 29th.

Our latest release brings you the developer section, a central place for the developer focused features of DingConnect.
The developer section can be found in the Account Settings section and will be visible to Administrator users.
There are currently two main parts to the developer section: API documentation, which will link you to our interactive API documentation, and API Keys which is a new feature.
The API Keys section allows you to manage your API users. You can create as many API users as you want (each of these will be a different API key) and you can attach each of these to an agent.
When you create an API user, we will show you the API key. It is important you copy this in a safe place, because for security reasons we will not show you the key again.
You can then take this API key and use it for your API integration. If you need to change your API key, you can simply and quickly create a new one. Once you’re happy with the switch, you can then delete the older key.
One of the major benefits of this new approach to API keys is the ability to attach keys to different agents. This means that you can essentially manage the balance of each API key and assign set commissions, all by using our existing Agent functionality.
In a later blog post, we’ll look at some interesting ways you might use the new API keys functionality.
Please note, if you are an older partner and connect to Ding using an authorization ID rather than an API key, you will not see the developer section at this time.
With this release, we have completely redesigned our products & pricing page, making it easier for you to search for relevant product information and to export a product list.
In the old version of the page, users had to first select a region before scrolling to find the country they wanted, before finally getting their information. The new page has a very simple search function, allowing you to type in exactly what you’re trying to find.
The most popular searches will be by country or operator. If we look at the country option as an example, searching a country such as Albania will return all of the available operators and products for that country. Results are ordered by operator name by default, but you can sort by clicking the icons next to Country, Send Amount, Receive Amount, Commission, Product Type or Validity.
The Commission column will only be available to those users who have permission to see it, typically account administrators. Seeing the commission percentage should help you figure out the products that return the greatest profit to you.
Once you have the list of the desired products, with one click you can easily export the list as a CSV, PDF or Excel file.
It’s hard to sell top-up without credit on your DingConnect balance. Partners who like to keep a close eye on their account balance can now choose to display their balance on all of their pages.
The balance will appear at the very top of your DingConnect page, to the right of your username and left of the logout button.
It’s easy to show or hide the balance with a click and you can also click a link to quickly add credit to your account.
As with other parts of the platform, only users who have permission to see account balances will see this feature. That means if you don’t want staff members to see the account balance, you can give them a role such as Teller.
Agents will only see a balance if the partner has set one for them. For further information on setting up a balance for an agent.
We appreciate your time is important and Ding has always worked to provide top-up faster than our competitors. With this latest release, we have cut the time it takes you to buy a PIN and print it for your customer.
The release adds two new features to the PIN purchase flow:
- Buy Now button
- Auto Print option
Buy Now button
When you press the Buy Now button, you will skip the order summary page and purchase the PIN instantly.
We added this feature because PIN purchases have fewer details to double check, such as phone numbers, so partners are more confident to buy without seeing the summary.
Auto Print option
Another key part of selling PIN products is giving the PIN to the customer. For most of our partners, this involves printing the PIN.
With the Auto Print option is turned on, when you buy the PIN, the printing process will start, opening up the printer options directly and saving a click.
The Auto Print option is turned on by default. To turn it off, press the toggle beneath the order details. Your choice will be remembered.
